Mods: I used a US 4 instead of the suggested US 8. Next time I will use a bigger needle size for lace.
April 20, 2012: It is blocked & done. I already have a buyer for it!!! So happy with it.
February 05, 2013: Whew! I am happy to be finished with this. Though it was a fun knit, the bind off just about killed my hands. I used Jenny’s Stretchy Bind off & am quite pleased with it.
January 29, 2013 : Only 20 more rounds to go. Each round takes so long. Plus, this isn’t going to be no 60 inch in diameter. Maybe 50 but not 60.
November 26, 2012: On round 11 & still having fun. Looks a bit wonky, but I think it will start showing correctly with a few more rounds done. Used Emily Ocker’s Circular cast on with my Chi-Goo US 4 (3.5mm) metal needles & magic loop. Yes, actually metal needles & slippery ones at that. I have found wood needles I like, but am very afraid I will snap the thinner ones if I use them (I snapped my KnitPicks US 4 wood needles) so I stick with my metals for needle sizes 5 & below. I don’t expect this to be done anywhere in the near future, I am actually expecting it to take about 6 months or so.
Chart Legend:
O = yarn over
A = double decrease (k3tog)
/ = k2tog
Each skein of Red Heart Crochet thread has 54.3 grams & 300 yards of thread. I have 46.7 grams of yarn left. Which works out to approximately 6 yards per gram & that comes to approximately 280 yards left.
