Although I’ve used some (subtley) speckled yarns, that is not really the theme of my blanket -- this pattern works just as well without the speckles as a great stashbusting project! I pulled all of the yarns from my stash and enhanced with just one new skein, (as opposed to the usual “stashbuster” that only motivates me to buy more yarn to finish project).

Other than occasionally throwing in a larger square I’m following the pattern as written…so far. Because of the join as you go method this is not really a very portable project and as written you can only build up and to the right, so keep that in mind when planning out colours, etc.
