It had to be done, I’ve joined the skinny scarf lovers!
Using up some leftovers from my Juttu, the yarn is soft and it feels so nice around my neck!
I didn’t want garter stitch, like most of the patterns on Ravelry, so I just and made it in 1x1 rib. It’s a bit narrower in ribbing, but it’s ended up the perfect size.
Length, 53”
Width, in the middle, 5”
I increased at the end of every 6th row until I had 34st, then knitted 7” straight before starting the decreases.
The increases are made on one side of the scarf, and the decreases on the other side. This means that the finished shape is a shallow parallelogram, rather than a shallow triangle.
I used M1R and M1Lp, according the stitch I needed for the increase. For a a knit stitch, M1R, and a purl stitch, M1Lp
I decreased according to the first stitch on the left hand needle, so SSK where the first stitch was a knit, and p2tog where the first stitch was a purl.
Really love this little scarf, it keeps my neck warm and doesn’t get in the way…
I’m currently making two more, and writing the pattern down as I go, for future reference.
