Just ready for a relaxing bath, and it definitely needs it to open out those cables.
All knitted to pattern, apart from picking up 2 less stitches for the sleeves, and decreasing 2 sts either side of the BOR on the 2nd round.
My row gauge was off by one stitch, so the number of stitches I picked up worked out perfectly.
The sleeves are quite wide with this design, and are knitted straight, without decreases, so I knew they’d be OK, especially as my arms aren’t big, and my wrists are only 6” around.
Blocked measurements:
Bust, 40”
Length (from top of shoulder, next to the neck), 23”
Inside sleeve, 19”
V neck depth, 5.25”
My only regret is frogging the body ribbing to make it shorter. The first time I tried it on, it made my short body look even shorter, so I frogged the ribbing and made the body longer, and ribbing shorter. But…blocking changed the final length, and the longer ribbing would’ve been fine after all.
Before blocking, this pattern looks pretty thick and chunky, but blocking is the magic it needs to open out those big cables.
The yarn was perfect, the cables show up really well and it’s soft to wear.
I absolutely love it, and it wasn’t difficult, or time consuming. The gauge makes it a quick project, the cables are so easy to memorise, and Aneta has written the instructions so clearly that there’s no head scratching to work out what to do. The pattern also has plenty of diagrams, which really help to visualise the construction.
I’m so very happy to have been part of this test…
