To maximize use of yardage, I did 5 increase sections, then one “neutral” section where I neither increased or decreased stitches on the body of the shawl, and then did 5 decrease sections. I knew I would not have enough to do both six increase sections and six decrease sections based on weighing the skein partway through. I had about 17.75 yards remaining.
