9/6/13 Cast on 68 st for 36” circumference.
9/22/13 Upper back and front complete. I found the instructions for short rows on the upper front somewhat confusing, but a fellow Raveler helped me out with this translation. Now moving on to the lower body.
10/7/13 Body complete and it fits well. This took less time than I expected. The design is straightforward.
10/14/13 Did I say this design was straightforward? It is, but shaping sleeves while maintaining the rib pattern has been a little challenging.
10/20/13 Finished right sleeve. I like that I can try this on as I go to check body & sleeve length before adding the edging & binding off.
11/3/13 Finished left sleeve. Ready to block before finishing.
11/10/13 Finished! The collar is a little larger than I’d like, so I’d do something different next time. This is the first time I’ve done a set-in sleeve and fortunately my mistakes are all “hidden” in the underarm. Overall I’m happy with the results.
Word to the Wise:
-
Although I attempted to follow the sleeve cap instructions verbatim, something went wrong on each sleeve and I had to improvise to ensure I knit/wrapped all stitches on the round. And I made different mistake(s) on each sleeve, ending up with a different number of rows in the sleeve cap sections. This will require careful monitoring to make sure the finished sleeves are as similar as possible.

I think I misinterpreted the written instructions, because I can’t even get the math to work out correctly, independent of what’s happening on the needles. Since this is my first experience with this technique, I am going to study the pattern further and consult other sources to see if I can
identify my mistake.
