She wants no pillows and a ripple blanket made with Denim, White, Royal, Grey Heather and Charcoal Heather. I’m using multiples of 3 + 2, sc blo, 2 rows each color.

We decided that the “wrong” side of the fabric was a bit smoother than the “right” side and that was the desired texture for this couch. So I made it with the wrong side out.

I made the cover for the base in one piece, rather than several, then sewing together. All I had to sew were the corner seams and three sides around the bottom--I put the non-corner sewed edges on the bottom of the base for a smoother look around the top edges.

I made the ruffle without gathers and with “pleats” on front corners instead. Used Denim for ruffle. Made a strip long enough for front and 2 ends to fold under to simulate pleats. On second row did 6-8 hdc’s on each end so folded under part would be easier to hide and sewed folded under parts before sewing to couch. Did strips for sides and back. I don’t like trying to sew on a very long strip, so I do it by making a strip that fits each side.

When sewing back to couch, I left the foam out for the first seam, which was the front seam. Tried to get it 2” from edge, but didn’t quite make that (1 1/2 to 1 3/4” from edge). Put foam in and sewed back and side seams. Sewed mini afghan to center of back.
