This was knit with a knitting belt.
My advice to everyone who would like to knit this is:
Extra sharp needles like those from Hiya Hiya or Chiaogoo make it easier to perform the decreases.
Place a stitch marker after every chart repeat. This makes it easier to follow.
And what I found helpful too was, to mark the yarnovers in the chart in a colour, because if you don´t watch closely, you can easily miss them otherwise.
For the rows towards the end with the knit-three-togethers and starting the next rows with purl-three-togethers:
Do heed what the pattern says and really do this VERY LOOSELY indeed! The edge on this side has not much give, but is very firm, and the opposite edge of that corner is, on the contrary, elastic. This results in the garter stitch part of the shawl wanting to spiral around the firm edge. 
! Which is not what you want.
I thought I had done mine loosely already, but one of the wings still has a tendency to curl at the tip. But I think I will be able to ignore that. At least I don’t feel inclined to reopen the shawl and reknit, definitely not! 
Shawl isn’t symmetrical, which totally annoys me now (after two years of having it and wearing it from time to time).

It’s a challenge, with my not-too-pointy-needles and cotton yarn, I can tell you… But the yarn fits the pattern too perfectly to give up!

After pending for more than two years, I have restarted this project two days ago. So far it goes well, but this is no TV knitting… (p2tog-tbl is giving me a hard time…

Sharp needle tips are a must for this pattern. (I have bought Hiya Hiya Sharp needles, and they are perfect for it.)
I took the notes of other projects into account and will use a lifeline often.

After three repeats of chart B, I finally have memorized the pattern a little and it doesn’t feel like riding a rodeo bull anymore. The p2togtbl’s have lost their fright. It starts to become fun knitting. Even if it’s still no TV knitting - because I tend to forget the yarnovers!

I´m afraid I have to say: Knitting this is not much fun.
But then, I´m not much of a lace knitter. Intricate lace patterns are so beautiful, but not relaxing to knit… I long for a project with lots and lots of stockinette in the same colour. But I WANT this shawl!!!

As an afterthought -
I really do not like that the two “wings” of this shawl are not symmetrical.
For all people out there who like symmetry in their shawls - you should know that it isn’t 100% symmetrical (see the one photo where I have folded it in half).
