Notes

Size notes:
- knit size 3, no cup

Gauge/Needles:

  • Got gauge on 3.75 mm carbon tips = needle A
  • using 3.5 mm wooden needles as needle B
  • worked the tubular cast on, 2.5mm needle C
  • I got gauge comfortably with this combo on fyberspates 4ply, which is a heavier fingering weight (not sport). This worked well for the jumper, but note that minor fit adjustments are needed for the neckline (depending on preference)

Left sleeve adjustment:

  • worked first set of decreases (9th round 7 more times) as directed
  • work in pattern 3 rounds
  • knit round decrease to cuff width: bring 73 down to 56 sts = 17 sts decrease = k2, (k2tog k2) 6 times, (k2tog, k3) 4 times, (k2tog, k2) 6 times, k2tog, k1
  • change to needle B and work cuff as directed (16rows ribbing before cast off)

Right sleeve:
- work as directed to cuff. Knit 1 row before changing to needle B and working cuff.

Both sleeves at half length = 326g
Finished jumper = 346g
ā€”> half sleeve = 20g

Fit notes:
- with the lighter yarn and slightly larger needle B, the neckline has come out a little wider than I anticipated. Planning to reknit it longer and with smaller needles to tighten this up ā€” Iā€™d suggest anyone else working on fingering weight to double check length too.
This jumper will mostly be worn as a crew neck over tshirts rather than collared shirts so the neckline needs to be tighter rather than looser.
