For Liz!
My daughter saw this afghan online and wanted it for her graduation present. Of course, the pattern was not available, but photos of the afghan were, so I created it myself based on those photos. Changed up a few things for more symmetry and created a one-of-a-kind afghan for my one-of-a-kind daugher.
I knit all the columns in a continuous row. Only needing to sew together columns instead of each square. Much smoother/nicer back.
My bead ended up all being 4mm size (because I couldn’t find the larger ones shown in the “official” pattern photos).
The yarn is so soft and the beads small enough to not be bothersome.
I also did NO duplicate stitching, everything was worked in as I went. The only thing I had to go back and add at the end was the buttons.
Some of the squares and beads were adapted from the “original” because I didn’t like how they weren’t symmetrical on all the sides. My colors are slightly different as well, since I couldn’t find an ochre colored yarn.
