A simple free pattern to make a sun for beginners.

I needed to add a sun applique to some of my hats. I searched so many sites for a free pattern that is easy and the right size, some were more appropriate than others, but not quite what I had in mind.

So I came up with this pattern that looks wonderful on children hats. Of course, it can be used on so many other projects like baby blankets or kid sweaters. and can be adjusted to increase or decrease the first row in twos to adjust the number of rays.

Oh, and don’t forget to add on 2 eyes with black, brown, blue or green yarn and a smile with red yarn , using a stitching needle.
