My Solaris is taking on a Lunar look. I even gave each squares a Lunar name just for fun. :) It’s not that I don’t want to celebrate the sun. These colors match my bedroom! :)
One great thing about this pattern is how versatile it is. Make it you own. Use any combination to create a blanket just the right size for you. I made my blanket very large to fit a queen size bed with plenty to hang over the sides. Should be really snugly this winter.
Things to remember.
Always count each round.
Keep an eye out for hidden stitches.
This is a big one…Remember some of the corners are not symmetrical.
Always read the hints Helen provides at the start of rounds.

Note It is a huge help to weave all your ends in as each square is finished rather then wait until the end.
After carefully laying out my squares I used the Flat Surface method to join my squares. A YouTube video by Helen Shrimpton can be found to help you see how this is done. It gives a nice flat and even join and goes fairly fast. Once all my squares were joined I turned the blanket over and wove in all the remaining ends.
Now to add a border!
There is so much going on in this blanket I’ve decided to keep it simple. I will be ending my blanket much as the 12 inch and 24 inch squares end.
I worked two rounds of dc in Royal and then repeated round 28 of the 24 inch square ( Sunrise) also in Royal. Then I repeated round 29 of the same square in Gray and finished off with a round of sc in royal.
Finished… It turned out large… 73 x 90
I used a total of 7213 yards ( 6596 meters)
