Working on a new test pattern for Helen Shrimpton. This is a beautiful pattern! The first thing I noticed… No magic circle! The reason for that.. no center circle! The center is a tiny square. Very different! I actually got all the way to round 40 and decided to start over. I just was not happy with my color placement. I used all the same colors the second time around, just in a different order. I have included a picture of the first try. You guys be the judge.
My colors are teals. My camera does not pick up teals so it looks rather blue. Tried my best to get an accurate picture. I had some pale aqua that had sparkle in it. I used it in the center to help save my plan pale aqua since yarn stores are closed. The center of my blanket has a sparkle to it.
I had a hard time wrapping my head around round 32. I just made sure both sides were the same and the count was right. Be sure to watch the corners. The stitch count is often different from the round before. Count often! My blanket came out large..real large. I used a light worsted yarn and a H (5.0) size hook. I love the large size. Much more useful. Plenty big enough for a queen size bed.
