I began these as a pair of Marko’s mitts for my brother, but they were too feminine in colour so I decided to make them up for my daughter instead and switched the main pattern over to Maimu’s mittens. So from the cuff down, they are Marko’s Mittens but once the main pattern begins, they are Maimu’s Mittens. If I were to do it again though, I would use either heavier yarn or more likely 2.25 or 2mm needles with more repeats than the pattern calls for. I began with 2.25 for the cuff, switched to 2.5mm needles, realized they still were not large enough and moved again a needle up. I should have just ripped back to the cuff and added more repeats. By being too lazy to do so, I essentially knit this first mitten close to 3 times! I hope the second one goes more quickly. update-2nd mitten was quick and easy. This is a very pretty pair and if she doesn’t like them, i will happily keep them.

I used the madtosh chartres on the cuff. It has such pretty jewel like colours and I like the bit of colour and interest it gives to the mitten.

Changed the thumb to match the pattern on the outside but kept the thumb pattern as written for the inside.
