Still need to block and take better photos. The picture in the book is different from the chart and even the two mittens shown on the photo page in the bok are different. I will write more detailed notes of what I did later and the differences from the book and put up better pics - maybe. I am not very good with pics.

Putting in side thumbs. Not sure what the book had me do, peasant thumbs I think but after the chart, I am just doing my own thing. I cast on and have been knitting with 68 stitches rather than the 72? that she had me do, and just added 4 stitches for a few rows where the pattern needed them in the chart then dec back to 68. Again, more detailed details later when I have the book with me.

re yarns used: The light cream and the dk blue (with red highlights) are a Drops Alpaca. The yellow, green and deep pink are all Road to China Light leftovers. I really like the Road to China Light for mittens. It is very warm, soft and a really nice weight that shows the pattern but has enough halo to fill in any gaps that would let the cold in. I will line these from the cuff up though as I think the lone drops is not warm enough. In retrospect, I think that just doubling it would have been a good idea. Live and Learn.

As for the title, it is for all of us Whovians out there. The Doctor is always ‘fixing things’ by reversing the polarity. In the 50th Anniversary, both the 10th and 11th Doctors are trying to reverse the polarity at the same time and 10 says - “We’re not reversing the polarity, we’re confusing the polarity!” It was very funny and made me laugh when I heard it and given the charts are different from the pic in the book and even the 2 mittens in the pic look different, it made me think of the mitten I was knitting while watching it.
