Plan: Black as the main color, and a rainbow slow-change as the contrast, with a third solid bright for contrast. Do the lice and the colorwork charts in the color change yarn, and the borders in the solid.

Need new charts. Don’t care about deer, and this is a hip little San Francisco baby.

Finish by the due date for the MN State Fair, submit, and then take to CA in September.

Well, I missed the fair. I had the body done, but not the sleeves on the finishing. As of 8/30, I am about half done with the sleeves. I think I will leave one shoulder open for a button fly so his adorable head will pop through easily.

The finishing took much longer than expected, but I finally managed to get it all sewn up. I originally bound off with a regular bindoff, thoughtlessly, but then unpicked and went with Jenny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bindoff, which meant I didn’t need the placket at the shoulder. I am just so happy with how this turned out. The colors at the sleeves and the hems and at the shoulder joins match pretty well because I ripped out big lengths of the color-change yarn to find the matching parts.
