Notes

I adore my gray Terra, and wear it all the time. This one is for my mother-in-law, who loves this shade of red.

The only modification I made was the bindoff, which I did by knitting two stitches together through the backloop and then placing that stitch back on the left needle. Nice and stretchy and easy to do.

I highly recommend kitchenering those 12 stiches early on, then it’s out of the way and you don’t have to worry about it later. Also, I used stitch markers to identify each lace repeat, which helped tremendously.

Lifelines went in at the beginning of chart A, and again at the middle of chart A.

Blocked measurements 65” x 31”.

The yarn is from an a huge wool JCREW sweater I found at Goodwill. The sweater weighed 4 pounds, so I actually have enough wool left over for another shawl!

Used a crochet provisional cast on again, which I find easy to do. Lucy Neatby’s excellent how-to video here

I like these instructions for kitchenering.
