3/20/11 - knit sleeves straight to 46 rows and began increases to 90 rows. 11 rows of contrast color, folded over (no purl line) and grafted off the needle. This would have taken a lot less time to finish if I had just done the garter stitch border the pattern calls for but I like the look of the contrast hem and I think it will last longer that way too. Steam blocked gently.
3/8/11 - made it to row 120 which I purled. Then went down a needle size one row, down another size for 3-4 rows, then decreased at each marker. Folded at the purl line and grafted off the needle to the inside. I didn’t do the garter stitch border because I was afraid that would just flip over like the back of the neck is doing. On to the sleeves …
3/5/11 - row 80 on the skirt and it’s starting to get to me. I think I have another 30 rows to go though. And then the sleeves.
2/18/11 - have knit the upper bodice to the color contrast. I reversed the overlap and also overlapped by 20 stitches rather than 18 for a total of 120 stitches so that the skirt increases will fit evenly. I do not know what color to make the contrast. And I am seriously questioning whether or not this is Pinkalicious-cute or just hideous. But thanks to this thread, it’s all good. I’m ready to keep on!
2/13/11 - after reading through many project notes I am casting on for size 3. I will have to figure out how to get more length though.
2/7/11 - I haven’t actually started this but I did swatch. I am holding the two yarns together to make an approximately DK weight which I got stitch gauge on size 5 circulars.
I originally swatched the Featherwisp with a white fingering but did not care for it, then with a pink remnant just to see how that would look, much better. The Red Heart pink is even brighter and looks perfect with the Featherwisp.
I still don’t know what to use for the contrast sash but I’ll figure that out when I get there.
