Charlotte’s Sunshine Baby pattern

————————————-

Made Charlotte through round 36 as written. 37-38 are as written in the Charlotte’s dream pattern with the following changes to stitch count:

  • Round 37 - stitched into hidden stitch at the beginning of each side to give 90 stitches per side instead of 89.

  • Round 38 - did 2sc, 2ch, 2sc into each corner to give 94 stitches per side instead of 92.

It measured 24in square at this point.

Then to the Sunshine Owl pattern:

  • Rounds 29-30 as written.

  • Round 31 - 1dc, 2ch, 1dc per corner; sub Fptc and dc for Fpdc and sc around.

  • Rounds 32-35 as written (34 grey).

Then 3 sets of 1 round dc, 1ch repeat followed by 1 round linen stitch. (The corners got unsquare so need to pay more attention to them if making again)

Then several rounds of linen stitch, ending with grey.

Edging: in each linen stitch 1ch gap, sc, 2ch, slip stitch around sc, 1ch.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Please read!

I have been blown away by the number of likes and pins for this project. Thank you.

To address some common queries and even complaints, I need to be very clear that I made this gift for friends using elements from two designers. One of the patterns I drew from is now a paid pattern.

If you’re thinking about making something similar, I suggest you thoroughly review all details about the patterns you’ll be using to be sure you’re happy with the skill level and costs before investing materials and time.

This was never intended to be construed as my independent original design and I can’t provide any more information about how I made it than what is here in the project. I will not provide excerpts from the copyright patterns so please don’t ask!

Thanks again - happy hooking!
