A cancer diagnosis is a terrible shock. I wanted to make a healing shawl to wrap my friend in love and warmth, that would be pretty and would knit up relatively quickly. I decided on a feather and fan motif.

This Broomstick Lace blanket pattern can be made in any size. It is usually made with worsted or aran weight yarn, but for this project, I used about 80% of a skein of Lion Brand Ice Cream Big Scoop yarn in Tutti Frutti, a light (3) weight yarn.

I created this pattern at the request of my son who wanted to give reverse-colored gear shift hats as gifts to his former roommates. The little hats have a ribbed brim and pompom in one color and a stockinette body in a contrasting color.

After viewing Pamela Wynne’s awesome Buffalo Double-Knit Scarf, I decided to create my own.

This hat uses two colors, one for the cuff and another for the cap. For this hat, Lion Brand Basic Stitch Anti-Pilling Black-White yarn was chosen for the cuff and Lion Brand Basic Stitch Anti-Pilling Black yarn was chosen for the cap.
