This is a perfect pattern for a beginner to start knitting hats!
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
This pattern for toe-up socks features ribbing in the instep and leg, an increased toe starting from an invisible cast-on, and a small gusset to make the short-row heel fit more perfectly. Socks may be knit one or two at a time, on two circulars or magic loop.

Pattern is sized for baby/child and adult. The baby version uses Baby Ull on size 3 needles, the adult version uses Encore on size 8 needles.
