Knitting: Cowl
The yarn is Noro Uchiwa. Ravelry doesn’t have it posted yet. While it claims to be a worsted, it is more a DK with a puff or two every 2 feet that could be called ‘worsted’.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
The pattern calls for a 9-inch circular needle. Some people might find this uncomfortable. Use double pointed needles if it is.
Knitting: Cowl
This is a fairly simple item. However. Latvian Braids and the 2-stitch columns are quite labor intensive. The end product is worth the blood, sweat, and tears.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
You will need less than one skein for the orange part and even less for the green parts.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This supposedly simple slouchie gets a bit complicated at the top when one has to do stranded work and decrease at the same time. It works, though. It’s a good project for scrap yarn.
Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
This is an extremely easy one-row repeat pattern. It is a mesh. It is a light summer stole. The ends are crocheted on once the mesh part is finished.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This is a pattern meant specifically for Valentine’s Day and thereabouts. It is a simple beanie pattern with the caveat that the stranded work requires the fabric to be larger as it is less stretchy, ergo, there are 78 stitches in the body of this object. The Plymouth Encore Worsted Starz yarn is said to be washable and it is implied that the c...
Crochet: Child Doll (American Girl, Sasha, etc)
This is an accessory for the Christmas Tree Dress for an 18-inch doll. It complements the dress and the wrap. Dress and wrap are knitted, the bonnet is crocheted. it is similar to the Granny baby bonnet.
Knitting: Child Doll (American Girl, Sasha, etc)
The Gold Eyelash yarn is King Cole Tinsel Chunky #1710 Ingot. This yarn is not listed in Ravelry.
Knitting: Child Doll (American Girl, Sasha, etc)
This pattern shows only an undecorated dress. A hat that continues the theme is in the pipeline. The technique is the same of the technique in my Tiered Cowl pattern.
Knitting: Child Doll (American Girl, Sasha, etc)
This pattern is modular. There is a skirt, a bodice, some sleeves, a stand-up collar, a Swiss-darned belt buckle, sewn-on snaps, and French knot embroidery.
Knitting: Child Doll (American Girl, Sasha, etc)
This is a sheath dress for an 18-inch doll. It is reversible. The ‘gum drop’ (bobble stitch) are knitted in. The peppermint candies are sewn on afterwards. The candy cane is crocheted. It is a Yarnspirations pattern (and it’s fun to make).
Knitting: Child Doll (American Girl, Sasha, etc)
This is a hat for a gingerbread costume for an 18-inch doll. It is designed with a ‘messy pony tail’ gap. It is decorated with bobble stitches (see Gingerbread Girl pattern) and with a peppermint candy (see Peppermint Candy pattern). The hat is snug.
Crochet: Beanie, Toque
This pattern begins with its vine, proceeds to the top, green (suggestion of leaf) section, then has a bit of solid orange to suggest the lid of a jack o’lantern, with a main body of mesh. This rather silly construction is actually a bit warm - not very, just a bit.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
There is stranding in this pattern. This pattern might lend itself to being a cupcake with a cherry on top. It is a fast knit (if stranding doesn’t give you apoplexy).
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This pattern combines knitting in the round, intarsia, and a curly i-cord (yes, it is possible).
Knitting: Child Doll (American Girl, Sasha, etc)
This pattern is the third in a costume. It has 4 patterns in it:
Knitting: Child Doll (American Girl, Sasha, etc)
This is knitted from the bottom of the front to the bottom of the back. There is a snap holding the neck divide together.
Knitting: Child Doll (American Girl, Sasha, etc)
The change to a 4 mm needle from a 5 mm needle cinches the waist and obviates the need for snaps of the such to close the pants.
Crochet: Toys and Hobbies - Other
This is a mixed craft project. It requires braiding and a tiny bit of French knot embroidery.
Knitting: Child Doll (American Girl, Sasha, etc)
The garter stitch bottom and top edges of the sleeves are there to make the seaming neater. The seaming is done from the outside.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
I usually knit everything in the same needle size. However, if you should wish to tighten up the ribbing, use 5mm needles. ChiaoGoo has a 5 mm 9 inch circular needle. In the picture, the ribbing looks very loose. When the beanie is worn, it is not loose.
Crochet: Doll Clothes - Other
This is an adaptation of my Granny Square Baby Bonnet pattern. The rabbit is a Donaldson stuffed animal.
Knitting: Doll Clothes - Other
The suggested yardage for the lace does not apply to this pattern. I was not able to change that. The lace-weight mohair is used for the pompom only.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
The technique used is the same that is used in my pattern called a Tiered Cow. It is the fold-over (I call these ‘tiers’) that is often used with sweaters and with at least one entrelac hat pattern that I have tried. One the technique is learned, it goes very smoothly.
Crochet: Needle Holder
This is something to help the crafter with finishing tools. It is a small pad.
Crochet: Earflap Hat
There is some braiding needed to make the closing strap. A bow tied tightly to the cord acts as a toggle and slides up and down.
Crochet: Applique / Embellishment
This is an applique pattern. It weaves in an unraveled 1.5 inch piece of yarn for the carrot top.
Crochet: Beanie, Toque
This pattern is rather fun. It was quick to make up. It will be fun in any combination of colors or even monotone. It would be fun to decorate with beads, as well.
Knitting: Cowl
This pattern is easy to adjust. Add or subtract stitches to make it bigger or smaller.
Knitting: Cowl
The technique here is the same as the folded over sweater collars or hat ribbing. The technique is fully explained in the pattern. The stitch count is optional. One can make it bigger by adding more stitches. The top and bottom edges are designed to roll; it is a major feature of the cowl.
