Worked out this pattern from a potholder I inherited from my grandmother. My grandmother used a no. 10 crochet cotton thread, which produces a nice and tight pattern. I used no. 3 or no. 5 crochet cotton thread, which also produces a nice and tight pattern. Any larger thread or yarn makes the holes in the pattern too large for a potholder.
