This hat is almost exclusively worked on the wrong side with purls. I’ve included instructions on how to knit “backwards” (or from left to right, working the knit stitch from behind) so you can see the right side out and see the pattern.

This pattern is inspired by waves breaking on a beach. The alternating cables, worked on two sides of the fabric, add an interesting texture to both sides.
