The orthoceras (“straight horn”) was an ancient ancestor to modern-day octopus and squid. My nephew had this fossil, and wanted me to make a “living” version so he could show people what it looked like when it was alive.

The fossa (pronounced FOO-suh) is the apex carnivore on Madagascar.

This pattern is for people who are already familiar with how to make amigurumi. I am mostly just giving you the stitch counts, not a lot of info on how to assemble.

Make a Sierpinski carpet of any size, with this pattern as the basic building block. Or put six of them together and make a Menger sponge.

I put a magnet in the acorn and one in the squirrel’s belly, so you can separate them if desired, but also keep them together easily.
