Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This project was born of the love of my family’s Scandinavian heritage and my son’s request for a moose or reindeer hat. My maternal grandfather’s name was also Lyle, and he would heartily approve of this hat.
Knitting: Pullover
This project was inspired by the beautiful vintage pullover worn by Cyril in season nine of Call the Midwife. I saw the sweater, and I immediately took photos of the TV with my cell phone.
Knitting: Mittens
These mittens were designed specifically for my daughter, a professional distance runner, based in Michigan. Perfect for the cold weather running, these Selbuvotter-style mittens are stylish and warm.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque, Mittens
Cheer on the home team! This pattern is for a matching hat and mittens in Selbuvotter-style knitting featuring the classic “Block M” for University of Michigan.

Knitting: Beanie, Toque, Mittens
This project was born of the love of my family’s Scandinavian heritage and our Wisconsin home.
Knitting: Cowl
This cozy cowl is a fantastic multi-purpose cold weather accessory. It can be worn scrunched around the neck to create a layer impermeable to the wind. I can also be pulled up and worn as a wimple.
Knitting: Cowl, Scarf
This project was inspired by looking at some of my leftover fingering weight yarn from previous projects. These projects are great stashbusters of those odds and ends that knitters just can’t part with.
Knitting: Gloves
Looking for a quick holiday gift? These classic gloves are perfect. They knit up quickly, and are gloriously soft, as they are knit out of Tosh Merino Light and Rowan Kid Silk Haze.

Knitting: Skirt
This project was inspired by a gradient set of Meridian sock yarn by Seven Sisters Arts, which found me at the Madison Knitters’ Guild Knit-In in March. The skirt is worked from the bottom up, and all published sizes use one 900 yard gradient set with six colors. The yardage of the contrasting color changes with size. Note that for the medium s...
Knitting: Cowl
This cowl was developed after seeing the beautiful new Dos Tierras yarn from Malabrigo. I loved the rich varigated colors that just begged to be knit into a project with a textured pattern. This project uses nearly all of two skeins.
Knitting: Skirt
This project is a skirt comprised of modular mitered squares. The cover photo shows a size medium, which consists of approximately two and a half 100g skeins of the main color and about three-quarters of a 100g skein of the contrasting color.
