Spring is special time for me here in Finland. Everything comes a live after winter, nature turns green and flowers come alive. Everything is so fresh and new, again. So that inspired me to create this pattern for our mKAL.

This pattern started evolving after I planned to just make something different for sock swap I was attending. Then it turned into a pattern testing, now it is full and finished pattern with 3 sizes and all have 3 different instep versions! :)

Beagles, those stubborn cute brown eyed dogs you just have to love! I’m a beagle mama, have two beautiful beagle boys and for me there is no other breed. Beagles Forever! So of course I had to design beagle sock, but it took me long time before I was happy enough for the result.

Salmiakki, that odd salty licorice we Finns love so much and rest of the world can’t understand why :D

In Japan at Spring they have hanami (flower viewing) season when people have picnic under a blooming sakura. This custom is said to have started around 710-794 AD, during Nara period.

This pattern includes instructions for both ways, top down and toe up.

This pattern got it’s inspiration from Finnish beautiful winter and from our beloved country’s 100 years of Independence.

I got the idea when I saw the yarn I used in model sock, it reminded me of the colors in sunset over skyline.
