Crochet: Potholder
After my Table of elements blanket, I was playing around with elements to make some words. The list I came up with is long, both words and names can be written with these. I chose a few fun ones to make, and here is my first.
Crochet: Throw
The idea here started with the background. I wanted to make a background with a small, compact and intricate pattern. Therefore, the central motif had to be smaller and simpler to not make the blanket messy. So, then came the rose.
Crochet: Scarf
I can never have enough scarves it seems. And when Scheepjes launched Arcadia last year, I was eager to try it out into yet another scarf… I admit I was not a fan of variegated yarn since I feel it doesn’t work well for some of my patterns which are usually full of drawings and detail, but using the variegated purple as a background colour, con...
Crochet: Throw
I have long wanted to make a Periodic Table of Elements blanket. I had trouble coming up with proper letters that were both legible enough but small enough for each element symbol, if not the blanket would be huge.
Crochet: Throw
Following on the design of my Dala horses blanket, I was inspired to make this version with roosters. It shares the same style, background and flowers.
Crochet: Pillow / Cushion
By popular demand, I had to make a cushion cover to match Astrid’s Dala horses blanket. It is meant for a 40x40cm fill.
Crochet: Throw
This variation of the word “beautiful” is such a statement. It is very descriptive, and I could write endless pages on why this is so important for people at any age. The background is full of my signature curls and doodles. The hardest part was choosing the colours since there are countless combinations possible!
Crochet: Pillow / Cushion
I had to make a cushion cover to match both Astrid’s Coloured pencils and Astrid’s Pencil stubs blankets. It is meant for a 40x40cm fill.
Crochet: Baby Blanket
By popular demand, after the reaction when I published my Astrid’s Coloured pencils blanket, I made this blanket to be done in any size you want. From a baby blanket to a king size one, it is you who decides this time. I guide you through the how and it is very easy! You can even reduce the width and extend the length to make a scarf, now that ...

The passing of time is perhaps the one thing common to all. And to each it has a different meaning. Seasons changing from dark winters into light summers. Developments. Dreams coming true, others left behind. Routines. Each gives time a different interpretation, but the one thing we can agree to, this blanket is perpetual!
Crochet: Coaster
I made this sample in Interlocking crochet with a 3mm hook with Scheepjes Catona (fingering weight). But it can be done with any yarn and any hook, the finished size will vary accordingly. I added instructions on how to make a loop in a corner to make a potholder out of it.
Crochet: Throw
With children growing up in the house, the paper bits with drawings were all over the place, and years back, clearing the kitchen table one day before dinner I looked at these drawings and pencils scattered, and they inspired me. I usually sketch my ideas with some notes, and they go into a box (a few boxes by now). I recently went through one ...
Crochet: Bag - Other
After I made my first bag (the Flower bag), I knew I wanted one for my WIP. So this one needed all sorts of pockets on the outside. But as it began to take shape, it was the perfect beach bag for me. So, now I still have to make a WIP bag!
Crochet: Bag - Other
I have been wanting to make a bag for a while, and finally I got around to making one, so this is my first. It was fun to figure out the details, the corners, and even the lining! Not all bags need lining, but I liked the challenge so I went for it. You can choose to line it or not.

What happens when you get a new set of thick dry pens and start playing with calligraphy? …of course, you turn it into a blanket!

Trondheim, a town in the north of Norway founded in 997 as a trading post, served as the capital of Norway from the Viking Age until 1217. In summer you can see endless rows of colourful houses with lots of windows to let in as much light as possible, to balance off with the dark winters where everything is covered in white snow.

The Dalecarlian horse, or Dala horse is a traditional carved, painted wooden statue of a horse originating in the Swedish province of Dalarna. In the old days the Dalecarlian horse was mostly used as a toy for children, and in modern times it has become a symbol of Sweden in general.

Sunflowers are a bold statement, they are big, happy flowers, that grow tall regardless of the environment they are in. And to me, an opportunity to draw endless small patterns and not leave a square inch blank…
Crochet: Scarf
I love lavender, and am always mesmerised by the huge lavender fields in bloom, with the waves of violet and green… so I depicted them in a scarf.
Crochet: Pillow / Cushion
When I heard Scheepjes was re-launching the Scrumptious colour pack, I knew I had to jump in. I looked at all those colours and this wave came floating in my mind. I first designed the Astrid’s Colour wave blanket, and with what was left in the box, a cushion cover was a must!
Crochet: Throw
When I heard Scheepjes was re-launching the Scrumptious colour pack, I knew I had to jump in. I looked at all those colours and this wave came floating in my mind. Graph paper, pen, white out (lots of), and some hours later I had the Colour wave drawn up. It was a bit of a reverse-engineering job to then plan the colours. With only 30g of each ...
Crochet: Throw
This blanket is done in interlocking crochet, and once I was almost done with the drawing I knew it had to be done with a Colour Pack. I used most of a Scheepjes Catona 10g colour pack, extra blue for the lines plus some white and skin colour.
Crochet: Throw
It is not hard to guess that the typical Delft® decorations is what inspired this blanket… I stuck to two shades of blue but it is possible to use as many as you want, since every tile takes its own skein. And, of course, I thought the tulips should stand out to break the monotony…
Crochet: Throw
I can’t stay away from fish…. and after my last blanket (Astrid’s Zentangle) which was in only two colours, I had a growing itch to handle lots of colours again. I chose the simple drawings, without all the small line detail I usually add, which together with the bright basic colours against white gives it a special effect.
Crochet: Baby Blanket
I tend to make complex drawings, but to me a baby blanket calls for a lighter, less cluttered drawing. If you follow me, you know fish end up in my designs very often, and I made a centre band with large stars, because undoubtedly, a baby is always a star.

Lately my blankets have lots of colours, I seem to increase the amount of colours I use in each new drawing. I do get requests to go back to my earlier designs, two colours only. So here it is, a 2 coloured straight forward blanket!

Inspiration sometimes comes when you least expect it. I live in Norway, where the winters are cold, dark and long. It snows from November to March if we are lucky, longer if we are not. Unlike rain, snow makes no sound, so suddenly you are surprised when you look out of the window and it is snowing heavily. That silence, and the coloured wooden...
Crochet: Baby Blanket
This blanket is made in two stages, I first the whole blanket in interlocking crochet with Scheepjes Metropolis and when done, I used Scheepjes Terrazzo (thicker than Metropolis) to slip stitch the red and blue lines to make the tartan effect.
Crochet: Throw
I’ve been wanting to do a four seasons blanket for a while, and never quite got the drawing to work the way I wanted. First it was a landscape and it seemed awkward, then it was just a tree, and it seemed bare. Eventually came the window and then the seat with cushions and as soon as the cushions were done, this cat found a cozy spot and stayed.
Crochet: Throw
My throw is square, but the pattern is written for another 40cms in case you want to make yours longer.
Crochet: Throw
Done in interlocking crochet, this blanket is the new chapter in a story that includes Middle Age English romance from the 1300’s, my grandmother’s chopping board, and my father’s artistic skills. The whole story is included in the pattern for the curious ones.
Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
It all started with numerous requests to make a blanket with the fishes at the bottom of my Poppy field blanket, and my drawings were too monotonous for such a size. So, I turned it into a wearable, and made instead this fun, colourful and not least super warm shawl.

As a bit of a Scheepjes Catona addict, I have been wanting to design something that would require a 10g colour pack. Growing up was so different when I was a kid. Most of the day was spent on the sidewalk with other neighbourhood kids. I had to re-create that, and used interlocking crochet to make each block. Now,...

Crochet: Throw, Bedspread
This blanket was made with 100 pct cotton (50grs = approx 130mts), I used a 3mm hook (initial chains with 3,5mm hook to avoid a tighter base, unless your chains are quite loose) and the finished blanket weighs 2,5kgs and measures 190cm x 135cm. I used two colours (grey for A and off-white for B), each colour representing about half the yarn use...
