This design incorporates this technique with the background using linked stitches and stitch clusters or Dc3tog (US terminology).

This potholder is worked in the round and uses simple stitches. The cats are made individually as applique and sewn on. A small amount of surface slip stitch is required.

Firstly, you may be wondering why I named this ‘The Paper Bag Hat’. I did so due to the way I have chosen to close the top of the hat. It reminded me of the old-fashioned brown paper bags from my days working in a local Supermarket.
