Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
The lace pattern for this gossamer wrap is a distant cousin of the classic feather and fan. It combines stockinette and garter stitch to accentuate the undulation caused by the separation of the increases and decreases. A special increase, lifted from 5 rows below the working row, creates a deep curve to the pattern, along with unique eyelets.

I am slowly going through many designs that I finished and never had time to publish. This is just one of them, that I designed in 2015. I was amazed that when I pulled the sample out it was still perfectly blocked. So I was able to photograph and share it today!
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap

Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
I designed these mitts in 2010, for my friend Susan, who had just learned to knit and wanted to try something a little challenging. She made several pairs! I just made one (mitt, not pair!) I am trying to clear out my studio, and came across this project. I love the yarn and the one mitt was really fetching. So I now have a pair and a pattern t...

This Project might look complicated, but is actually quite easy once you get going. The lace pattern is evocative of delicate fans. The beads are very subtle and add just a touch of elegance, but are totally optional, so feel free to omit them if you like. Alternatively, if you like your beads more glitzy feel free to use 6/0 beads in gold, whi...

Knitting: Throw
This coverlet began as just an idea, when my dear friend Margaret was giving away a large bag of sock yarn in preparation for a move. It was such a riot of color I started thinking about what I could use it all for. I had been reading about quilting traditions in America and this concept was born. I pulled out all the left-over sock yarn in my ...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This design was inspired by the Year of the Sheep. This lunar New Year is represented by the color green, to symbolize new wood. As we move from snow storm to snow storm in New York this winter, I find myself longing for those fresh, green branches that tell me springtime is on the way. What better way to pull ourselves out of the snow but with...

This table set is from nature and “industrial” at the same time; the leaves soften the crisp spiral lines. It begins with a center cast-on and is worked in the round. The bronze beads, applied with a crochet hook, add a little elegance. The bind-off is a classic vintage crochet style.
Knitting: Cowl
