After I made my first vase hat (see the Penelope vase hat pattern on my profile), I wanted to design another one to use up the yarn left over. I came up with this red/white figure design of a victory scene, designed to use the leftover yarn from the Penelope hat (and vice versa), or just to stand as its own as a beautiful Ancient Greek/Athenian...

As a classicist spending a fair amount of time looking at vase art, I had the idea of making a hat that mimicked some of my favorite styles and pieces of Athenian art. Thus the Penelope ancient Greek vase hat was born!
