The Tall Chevron Collection is a collection of 3 + 1 patterns all featuring an elongated chevron stitch pattern. It consists of Scarf, Hat and Wrist Warmers with an accidental addition of a Cowl. Accidental because it was never an intended design or planned to be a part of this collection but has been well-received.

This hat and it’s bulky weight cousin Danny’s Hat feature a stitch pattern that was in my mind for quite a while but this took a lot of attempts to bring it into being on my needles (and on paper!) - sorry to those who have been waiting for it since I teased social media with my photos back in 2021.

It was a hot (for the UK), sunny Friday afternoon when I wanted something to knit but didn’t want a bunch of fabric from a shawl or top lying in my lap so I grabbed a cool drink, went out into the garden, grabbed some yarn that matched the wisteria and lavender flowers that were out there and sat in the shade of some bamboo, set to designing.

Well this pattern has cables within cables! There are just so many! The outer cables create almost a honeycomb effect with delicate little cables just peeking out from underneath, like they’re dancing with each other. This started as a Christmas present (the scarf) when I was given a specific request for a scarf with chevrons. It had to be ‘masculine’ and ‘long enough to fold in half and tuck in’. It then turned into the creation of a pattern based on requests from people who saw photos of the finished scarf.
