Knitting: Cardigan
Amalenca cardigan is worked top-down, seamlessly, with raglan sleeves. The yoke is decorated with lines of textured stitches. Sleeves are worked top down in the round. The hem and the cuffs are done in moss stitches as well as the button bands. All together it is a rather straight forward knitting.

Stachys name refers to Stachys bysantina, a white silvery plant whose leaves, stem and corolla are covered with a fur-like hair coating. It is also named lamb’s ear.

Note: I have tried to be as inclusive as possible. However it was not possible to find testers for bigger sizes. I publish the pattern as it is but if you find an error or something wrong for sizes 9 and upper just tell me. I will be happy to refund you the price of the pattern.

As usual I took my inspiration from the protected flora of Dordogne. This time I have chosen the Linaigrette (Eriophorum gracile Koch ex Rothiii), a plant whose the thin stem bears an inflorescence of fluffy flowers, looking like cotton.

A wee little girl asked me to knit a black sweater for her, a black sweater as for cat woman. I did it, in black and also in white, as the movie Black Cat, White Cat. Well, this sweater named Cat Woman is all about cat!

Pepino (Solanum muricatum) is a large ovoid bay native to South America. Its golden yellow skin is marbled with brown stripes. Its sweet flavour is similar to melon flavour. I choose to name a little striped baby sweater after the pepino.

Muscari, also known as grape hyacinth or bluebells, is a bulbous plant often growned in the garden. At spring it produces dense spikes of blue flowers. There are about 40 species in the genus. In Dordogne where I live we protect Muscari motelayi.

Kotelny Island is located in the Artic Ocean, north of Siberia. It is inhabited, covered with ice and snow. Some spots of vegetation appear here and there. This shawl structure has been designed in reference of the last winter days, before the coming of spring in this Nordic area.
