A simple combination of knit and purl stitches is used to work an attractive pattern that resembles a woven basket. It makes a cosy cot blanket for a baby but also a useful car blanket or throw as children get older.
Knitting: Scarf
This simple lace scarf is light enough to wear as a wrap in the warmer months but also makes a cosy scarf in the winter. The pattern is based on a traditional Shetland stitch called “broken acre” which, on a ribbing background, makes a fabric that is reversible and doesn’t curl.
