Knitting: Beret, Tam
This is a design inspired by Rivendell from the movie of The Fellowship of the Ring. It is available as a kit through Renaissance Dyeing and uses their gorgeous organic, naturally dyed wool. It is knitted in the round using coded and coloured charts and no more than two colours per round.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
These socks use several simple Fair Isle designs which add up to a complex appearance. However, no pattern is more than nine lines long and they are quite easy to knit. Only two colours are used in any row.

Knitting: Pullover
The inspiration for this jumper was the fabulous 16th century Lady and the Unicorn tapestries from the Musée National du Moyen Âge in Paris. The wool is from the French natural dye company Renaiisance Dyeing and is dyed in the exact colours used in the original tapestries.
Knitting: Beret, Tam
I first designed this tam in 2013. I was living in New Zealand when the terrible bushfires began in the Blue Mountains where I had been living and one afternoon, looking westwards, I realised that I was looking at the smoke from the fires.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
These Fair Isle socks use small motifs and can be made up from scraps left over from other projects, or as they might have been during the last war, knitted from wool unpicked from old worn out jumpers.

Knitting: Pullover
This is a draped loose fitting blouse designed to use the lovely soft characteristics of fine 100% alpaca yarn. The soft angora at the cuffs and neckline and the elegant Fair Isle edgings give the blouse a Renaissance touch.
Knitting: Scarf
This scarf design is based on descriptions of girls wearing what was called a ‘cloud’. The stitch is a slightly simplified version of a stitch pattern used to knit clouds and there are two lovely luxurious tassels to weight it enough so that it stays warmly wrapped even in a strong breeze.
Knitting: Pullover
This pattern is based on a 1920s design which I saw photographed in Anne Feitelson’s book The Art of Fair Isle Knitting. The original design used much larger motifs and must have been knitted using very fine wool. I have reduced the size and number of motifs but kept to the traditional Fair Isle colours of madder red, indigo, yellow, natural wh...

These socks are based on traditional Fair Isle designs and include corrugated ribbing and a vertical pattern typical of the Sand Lodge designs. Every pattern motif is different to make sure knitting them keeps boredom at bay but each motif is quite small so that they are quite easy to knit. There are extra motifs included in the charts so the s...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
The Queen of the Night is a dramatic deep blue shawl with a red lotus flower design worked in colourwork around the edges and hemmed to close in the stranded reverse side and to add weight so the shawl drapes beautifully and sits on the shoulders without slipping. The body of the shawl is worked in a simple eyelet flower stitch so that the colo...
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
The pattern was inspired by the Victorian Regard ring where the word regard is spelled out as an acrostic in jewels - ruby, emerald, garnet, amethyst, ruby and diamond.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
Impudence socks are just for fun. They’re a Bohus looking design without the hard work. They can be made with or without the fancy edging and are a very comfortable and well fitted sock.
