Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
There are times that will be forever etched in our minds. March - ? 2020 is one of those times. Far be it from me to allow myself to languish. Oh, and while we are on the topic of languish, do you happen to have any yarn that fits that description? I don’t know about you but I tend to hoard some of the pretties that I don’t have much of but cou...
Knitting: Coat / Jacket
Anyone can knit this big easy shrug! The Lakesider All Season Shrug is great year ‘round or, if you happen to be a snowbird, a lovely piece for those less than tropical feeling kind of days you most certainly have in January. Not to mention, chilly restaurants, offices or businesses that can turn your blood to ice water, will no longer have suc...
Knitting: Pullover
Great yarn deserves a special pattern designed just for it! I just love Bamboo Bloom Handpaints! Not only is it an interesting combination of fibers, bamboo with “blooms” of wool, but the colors are absolutely outstanding. I started with and knitted 1 skein of my favorite color of the Bamboo Bloom Handpaints, then changed to another color that ...
Knitting: Pullover
I saw a similar sweater and just had to have one - No sweat to knit and no sweat to wear! Multiple strands of yarn are held together as one and the yarn need not be the yarn used in the pattern. It’s super easy and quick using BIG needles. You may choose to knit or crochet the decorative edge. What’s not to like?!
Knitting: Sleeveless Top
I’m always looking for ways to knit for summer or please my “snowbirds”. No sweat to knit and no sweat when you wear it! Plus it’s super easy and quick using BIG needles. Wear over a bathing suit top or a cami. What’s not to like?
Knitting: Scarf
No more hat or scarf missing its better half! Good news/bad news: If you lose one - you lose it all but you’ll be less likely to lose it cause it stays put! Gotta’ laugh! Here is yet another pattern per request “Just for Ewe”! There are many ways to create a hat with the scarf attached, such as “Snowangel” but it is a totally different look. Th...
Knitting: Scarf
This fun new yarn deserves some special attention! Orbit is composed of 6 different yarns already knitted into an I-Cord! How cool is that?!!
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
How about fringe you don’t have to tie on and multiple color changes with no ends to bury? This shawl pattern is a super quick knit with some easy knit-tricks. The 1 Ball Shawl (or the Shawl with a New Angle) is a great shawl that can be worn in multitudinous ways and my personal favorite!
Knitting: Scarf
Very easy! This pattern was written to answer some of the most often asked questions in my shop. “Simple Scarf” is an “artsy” creation and the 1st pattern in my series for the beginning/or reviving knitter. An instructional DVD is also available to demonstrate the continental knitting techniques involved.
Knitting: Sleeveless Top
Whoa! Please don’t don’t let the yardage fool you and pass this by! This fun cover up only takes 2 skeins of Mango Moon Chakra and on 1 skein of Cascade Yarns Sierra for the average size. Any skill level will be entertained and rewarded for their efforts in knitting this very stretchy and forgiving cover up - there are video clips included to h...
Knitting: Scarf
I try very hard not to write patterns exclusively for one specific brand of yarn, but this yarn is the ultimate exception! If you haven’t seen or used this yarn, you are truly missing the boat! Because I am simply all thumbs, beading is my least favorite thing to do, yet I greatly enjoy its benefits. That’s where this yarn becomes the star! It ...
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
NEW AND IMPROVED! This is a favorite pattern we have sold in our shop for many years. As more and more knitters are buying patterns online we get inquiries about certain techniques employed in the patterns. We all know that most instructions are better seen than said so we included video clips to answer the most commonly asked questions.
Knitting: Coat / Jacket
Named “Off-the-Cuff Coat” because of the direction of the knitting starts at the cuff. Very easy and rather quick for a coat with minimal yarn consumption. Two different yarns are held together as one and knitted on big needles, plus the finishing is a snap! This pattern can easily be altered in size.
Knitting: Poncho
Do you wish to wear tank tops or a tank dress and resist the urge because you feel it is immodest or cringe at the thought of exposing the telltale signs of our aging bodies? Would you like to learn some new stitches without being committed to knitting an entire piece in a stitch you wish you had never met? This small project is just the answer...
Knitting: Purse / Handbag
This cute little bag is the most requested of all the handbag patterns I have written. It’s simple, great for beginners and not too “costy” which makes it a great gift. Don’t be afraid to use any feltable yarn. Embellish as you knit or after. All the techniques employed on this project are fully explained on the optional DVDs.
Knitting: Brimmed Hat
Cascade 220 has more than one wonderful color of orange. Using 2 different colors of orange held together as one renders the most appealing color. Color #9460 renders a believable stem for the lil’ punkin’. Here’s a great opportunity to learn some new and easy ways to create shape and texture. Employ basic skills, you probably already know, in ...
Knitting: Brimmed Hat
Very easy using a #15-24” circular needle. This hat is so easy I teach it to my beginner classes. There are no worries about how nice and tidy your stitches are because the felting process will simply melt your little indiscretions away! DVD’s are available for those who wish to be personally tutored from start to finish.
Knitting: Brimmed Hat
Have you ever seen a felt cowboy hat put into shape? When I found out about that process I decided it was time to rethink the patterns I had been knitting and then felting. A lot of shaping, a lot more yarn and time was being consumed than was agreeable with my taste. If you wish your hat to be thicker (and heavier I might add) you may use a sl...
