Use a sock weight yarn with some stretch. I used 2 skeins of Deborah Norville’s Serenity in a self-striping yarn with a solid. You will need USA No. 2 needles. You will need four knitting markers. This pattern is for an intermediate lace knitter. I used silk and bamboo, but you could use any fingering weight yarn. It is modeled on an old-fashioned button spat. You will need 14 buttons.
