Knitting: Earflap Hat
This pattern is worked in the round for the hat and flat for the ears and ear flaps. The ear flaps use an I-cord for the ties. It will for most 4-7 year olds. This newborn size hat is knit in the round with double pointed needles, and the wings knit flat. The hat is colour Cobalt and a small amount of white for the wings. White felt was used to the letter A and glued to front of hat.
Knitting: Stocking
This pattern is perfect for baby’s first Christmas and comes in 3 size: newborn, 6 months, and 12 months. The hat has green, white, and red stripes but could easily be changed to any colour combination for a non-Christmas look. I used Loops&Threads for the ones that I made; Paintbox Simply Aran would also work very well.

I designed this hat for my very cute cousin Owen who is 9 months old in this photo. The hat is big enough on him that he should be able to wear it through the winter, until he’s at least 12 months, maybe longer.
