Knitting: Hanger Cover
Slip this onto a hanger and it will help keep your garment from falling off the hanger. It is totally removable - simply pull on one end and then lift completely off the hanger. It weighs 25 grams of cotton yarn, and takes 4-5 hours to make. An experienced beginner could make it, and the instructions are written so that a beginner can follow.
Knitting: Scrubber
Use this 100% cotton scrubbie mitt to wash your dishes, mop up the counter, car, whatever. It takes 3 hours to knit in all garter stitch. Simply fold over and whip-stitch to close two ends, leaving the bottom open to put your hand through, and leaving a hole for your thumb. Leaving the thumb bare helps keep dishes from slipping around. Hang it ...
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
These different colors of this “Thumb-Hole Fingerless Gloves” pattern each match my balaclava pattern, “Neck Warmer Beanie,” which you can find by searching for my name, Donna Norton, click on “view all patterns,” and then scroll to find the pattern. One pair of the fingerless gloves also matches my pattern for “Medicine Man Tabard Pullover” - ...
Knitting: Poncho
Made of rich all Merino Wool, which does not scratch. This is a pullover with tabard-closed sides. A tabard is a tunic, such as worn in Medieval times, having an embroidered symbol, like a “coat-of-arms” on the front. The symbol on this pullover represents “interconnectedness.” It has open sides with a tab that connects the back to the front (s...
Knitting: Balaclava
A beanie is better when it also covers your ears and neck, and also can’t blow off your head! Use the Intarsia section, or skip it. Use all the colors, or just use one color for everything. It also looks good without a “Ponytail,” but I really like the “Ponytail” – it is fun, different, and really cute. This is a 2-piece construction worked fla...
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This is an elegant beanie that is quick and easy, and so much fun to wear. The two-page pattern includes helpful hints and information. Note: The last photo of the black and red Beanie is also made with KnitPicks Swish Merino wool - see my Free “Bob’s Beanie” pattern for how to do the corrugated ribbing.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Two sets of photos show two different color sets for the same pattern, with both using only Madelinetosh Tosh Chunky yarn - an elegant, luxurious, richly dyed yarn.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
I’m very proud of this! It has corrugated ribbing, with yarn inserted into stitches at the edge of the spiral pattern on the body of the beanie, to look similar to a Barber’s Pole.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This beanie has a multicolor Pompom attached, which has the same colors as the ribbed border. The border has two sets of 5 different colors, and each color has only one row per set. The Tosh chunky “Chamomile” (yellow) which makes up the main body of the beanie is made with luxurious 100% merino, and the yellow color is deep and rich, giving th...
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
The Beanie pictured was made for a man. His name, “Bob,” is chain-stitch embroidered onto the Beanie. It was made to match Bob’s hair color. With a cast on of 84 stitches, it fits him perfectly and looks terrific on him. It is made with all 100% Merino, so it is very soft and luxurious. The pattern also calls for a set of US size 10 double-poin...
Knitting: Stocking
This stocking cap-scarf pattern is written so that an experienced beginner can follow it. You can substitute the colors for your own. The pattern also explains how to add extra color bands if you want it to be longer than 48”, and explains how to make and add a Pompom. It has a special Criss-Cross band with foreground and background colors (red...
Knitting: Hair accessories
This is a knitted I-Cord with elastic floating freely through the middle of it. It is the size of a regular ponytail band you will find in the store that wraps twice around a ponytail.
Knitting: Scrubber
If you cannot find the Cascade Luna Paints (discontinued), you might try Classic Elite “Sprout”, Chunky 100% cotton.
Knitting: Scarf
This scarf pattern has a single-thread “X” pattern, and is much easier and much faster than my similar “Bejeweled Scarf” pattern with a double-thread “X” pattern.
Knitting: Scarf
This velvety, all-merino knitted scarf pattern will allow you to make countless combinations of colors, one being the foreground pattern and the other being the background color. This is a unique pattern, and is worked flat. There is enough of the Araucania Huasco fingering (background yarn) to make two scarves. This pattern works just as well ...
Knitting: Necklace
This is a special choker because it is closed using a small parachute buckle, and is attached using the yarn tails. It is an easy pattern, with two rows of lace/holes. Add any light-weight ornament. The “top-drilled” acrylic crystal prism tear drop ornament shown here was purchased at www.beadaholique.com, and is attached with matching yarn. In...
Knitting: Scarf
This is made by knitting two of the exact same scarf, and then they are placed with wrong sides together, and then whip-stitch (or blanket embroider stitch) sewn together at the edges, in order to form a space for a hidden pocket in the side of the scarf. (So the two scarves become one scarf). The basic pattern is for a 4” wide by about 48” lon...
Knitting: Needle Holder
This needles and markers holder curtain is meant to be attached to the end of a folding tray table, using cup hooks to attach the curtain to the table. I have the table right next to where I sit and knit. Notice that you can put your needles and markers right through the curtain, (going in-and-out of the knit stitches), in addition to putting t...
Knitting: Cozy - Other
This is a removable pouch for storing various knitting supplies, made to conveniently hang off the end of a folding tray table, next to where you sit and knit. You can put things in it, and/or you can hang or “pin” things through it or on it. It also stores my scissors, tape measure, needles container, tweezers, etc. Slip the pouch on and off t...
Knitting: Cozy - Other
Use this Knitted Armrest Organizer on your recliner for storing a TV Remote Control, knitted slippers, etc. Simply place it over the armrest and then tuck it into the seat cushion and it’s ready to use. Or it could be tucked under the side of a mattress. Very handy to have while you are knitting! If you want enough yarn to make 2-3 pieces, get ...
