Designed as a teaching pattern for a class, this cowl project is intended to solidify stranded knitting skills – even knitted stitches, consistent gauge, catching floats and reading charts.

While researching a name for this design, I discovered a Norwegian connection to my home province. Norwegian merchant ships that were at sea when Norway was invaded early in the Second World War were redirected to friendly ports throughout the world.
