’Troublemaker’ is the big bad brother to my ‘Wavemaker’ shawl that is knit in a fingering weight. And just like it’s little brother, it’s a perfect way to show off beautiful variegated yarn.

It’s been a damned difficult year, to say the least. For those of us who have survived it, however, it feels as though glimmers of hope are on the horizon.

’Latvianesque’ is an infinitity scarf that is long enough to wrap around one’s neck for a super cosy scarf, or left to hang for a more dramatic look that will show off all the panels.

Wow. What a year, to say the least. I think it ranks up there with 2010 for the worst year of my life. And I’m sure I’m not alone.

’Wavemaker’ was created to show off the beauty of multicolour hand dyed & hand painted skeins, with the use of drop stitches creating a wave pattern, interspersed with rows of plain garter stitch. No purling involved.

’Brand New Day (A Cowl)’ features stunning Fair Isle patterns and is knit using a regular skein of Wollmeise ‘Pure’ and a set of 10 mini-skein ‘Birdies’, also from Wollmeise. I used ‘Natur’ for the background and the ‘Pippi-Lotta’ set.

’Turning The Corner’ is a triangular shawlette/wrap, begun in one corner with central decreases and yarn overs, to create a V-shape. About a third of the way through, the knitting occurs just along one half of the V, and gradually picking up stitches from the other half of the V.

Beginning with a provisional cast on, the cowl is knit in the round, and then the two ends are joined with a kitchener graft, with a half-twist to create a Möbius loop.

‘Fire O’erhead’ is a tri-cornered, stranded colourwork hat featuring traditional Fairisle motifs and a brim that’s folded in half along a purl row for extra warmth on the ears.
