This simple but adorable kitty is a great stashbuster to use up leftover sock yarn. Unique construction keeps the cozy closed. Be warned, it’s almost impossible to stop after you’ve made one!

These mittens feature the Chinese characters for “snowflake” (literally, snow flower) and “frost”, while the character for “crystal” is repeated around the cuff. The palm’s design, mirrored on opposing hands, brings to mind swinging bead curtains, and continues around the thumb.

Snowflakes have six points, but are rarely charted that way, as I discovered when I tried to find a proper snowflake pattern. I charted this out to use this for a pair of mittens, but thought I’d share it with anyone else who is annoyed with eight-pointed snowflake designs!
