Knitting: Animal Toy
The sengi, aka elephant shrew, is a small mammal native to the forests, grasslands, and rocky outcroppings of south-eastern Africa.
Knitting: Hot Water Bottle
This cuddly guy is worked in the round from top opening to tip of the tail. Legs are picked up and knit in the round from the body, but the head is knit separately in the round and sewn on once complete.
Knitting: Beret, Tam
Here’s a subtly acorn-cap-inspired, lacy and detailed beret for chilly autumn days ahead, those who carry the fall colors in their hearts through all the seasons, or simply crowning those who will someday grow into mighty oaks.
Knitting: Glasses Case
A little double-knitted socklet to keep specs safe and contained. A great first double-knitting project! The doubled fabric helps to cushion and protect those all-important glasses, even in a chaotic project bag.
Knitting: Booties
These sweet baby boots are named for Scotland’s Balmoral Castle, a favorite country home of Queen Victoria. Her majesty was apparently not a very skilled knitter, but these gorgeous highlands-inspired bootikins from the late Victorian era seem like something she would have loved to offer her grandbabies.
Knitting: Booties
These are timeless baby booties adapted for the modern knitter from an antique (c. 1886) pattern. They are very easy to make, especially since I have taken all of the Victorian-era weirdness out of the instructions for your convenience!
