Anne and Gilbert definitely do not hit it off right away. It’s safe to say that their first interaction is a bit of a disaster. But oh, how we love this boy-next-door! He inspires Anne to stretch and grow and sees the very best in her.

Anne (don’t forget the “e”) brings such creativity, whimsy, and life to the sleepy, stolid Green Gables and all of Avonlea. She finds delight in the simplest of pleasures and loves with her whole heart.

The rainbow is a symbol with deep meaning for so many people. For some it is a symbol of hope and promises from God. For others it is a symbol of acceptance for all and pride in oneself. Regardless of who you are, rainbows bring us all joy and can be a bridge of love between us. And Rainbow Bridge National Monument in Southern Utah seems the mo...

On the western edge of the Oquirrh Mountains is the little town of Stansbury Park, a neighborhood just south of the Great Salt Lake. I wanted a place name for this lovely little shawl that would evoke the feeling of beautiful edging. I chose to name it after a place that’s right on the edge of two amazing things.

Everywhere you look in the Salt Lake Valley, there is a stunning view of the mountains. We are all so used to it that we take it for granted. But every once in a while I realize just how magnificent it is. These socks are named to help me remember how grateful I am for Mountain Vistas all around me.

My Dixie Creek Shawl is a delicate, lacy dream that I absolutely love. But sometimes you need something a little warmer and easier to wear. This cowl takes all the same elements such as squishy garter stitch, easy stockinette, simple lace, and a beautiful picot bind off, and makes them new in this pull-on, worsted weight cowl. You get all the s...

The Albion Basin lies in Little Cottonwood Canyon at the south end of Salt Lake City. In the winter it is completely covered in the same deep snow that brings skiers from all over the world. But when the snow melts in the late spring, this picturesque valley is covered in a stunning display of wildflowers. Steep mountains rise on either side, b...

Where the paved roads end and the noise of traffic dies away. Where stars are the brightest thing to be seen. Where trees and wind and water are the loudest sounds you’ll hear. This is backcountry. Take a trip back to your roots with this crescent-shaped shawl knit in three contrasting colors. Sections of simple lace are separated with garter a...

Sugar House is the area of Salt Lake City where my sweet husband grew up. It got its name for being the perfect place to grow sugar beets in the days of the pioneers. This flirty, flowy shawl was designed to use two of your sweetest skeins. I’ve used two beautiful colorways from Candy Shoppe Yarns, both with a sugary sparkle to them, but you ca...

Imagine the sound of the waves crashing on the sand, the cry of the gulls overhead, and the wind in your hair. You walk along the beach, scanning the ground for any little peek of rose, cream, yellow, or gray to signal that there is a buried shell. Of course, you already have bowls of the beautiful, delicate creations at home, but you cannot re...

Which direction should you head? Who should you listen to? Where should you go? This is a time to follow your inner compass and allow it to guide you through the pitfalls of the world. You know which way it’s pointing if you really stop and pay attention. Follow it to your own true north.

My great-aunt Alta was one of the most influential women in my life. She never had children of her own, but she treated my mother and her siblings like her children, and we were all her grandchildren. I find it significant that the name Alta means high, lofty, or elevated. This hat is designed to be all of that. The extra warmth and loft from a...
