Is it a sock or a 1970’s wallpaper gone rogue? A legitimate question, but look closer and you’ll find a brand new pattern for a pair of stranded colourwork, top-down, peasant heel socks with (or without) a simplified picot edge.

These wild roses are invasive! First they crept onto one sock, and suddenly I’m knitting a second pair - enough to keep my feet warm through Sweden’s cool summer nights and icy winters. Let them spread onto your needles too!

What do kids need? Soft, warm mittens in fun colours and patterns!

This pattern started with a flower I found on a Latvian mitten. It’s included in my design, in the middle and on the thumb. The rest of the thistle field just grew around it. Somehow a tilled field ended up on the cuff, too. We’ll see how that turns out over time, with all of those thistle seeds flying about.

These mittens were created on a wintry night in Stockholm, while the slush in the street outside was still deciding whether to freeze and turn the pavement into a surprise ice skating rink, or to just absorb some more grime and car exhaust for added splashing fun.
