Designed in celebration of the limited edition “Ombra della Sera” cashmere from Mrs. Crosby.

This piece of shadow knitting (also known as illusion knitting) features a motif that appears and vanishes across a field of color blocks that pay homage to a very famous striped scarf.

Vitamarie is a relatively simple shawl, knit in one piece from tip to tip. Body and edges are worked simultaneously. All shaping takes place in the body, between a pair of markers. It would make an excellent first large project for a newcomer to lace.

Released to celebrate the launch of my first Craftsy.com class, “Heirloom Lace Edgings.” A very simple, seamless bonnet with a double edging of simple laces.

Pattern includes collar, plus cloche and slouch hats to match.
