Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
I wanted to a simple shawl pattern that would work with a highly variegated yarn. This shawl alternates 24 rows of basic garter stitch with 24 rows of an Hourglass Openwork lace pattern.

This is a simple textured cowl pattern using worsted weight yarn. It is an easy pattern to memorize and quick to knit up.

I had dyed a fun, variegated, unicorn colorway over the summer, and I wanted to use it. Due to the non-repeating nature of the color, I wanted something generally simple that would show off the colors. I think this stitch pattern works well with this type of color. So find that special skein of highly variegated color and knit up this cowl.

This pattern has an easy textured pattern with eyelet band highlights. It can be knit using color stripes in highly contrasting colors, complimentary colors, or a solid and it will be pleasing.

This scarf uses the Elongated Diamond Pattern from A Treasury of Knitting Patterns by Barbara G. Walker. The nature of this pattern is that the “wrong” side of the pattern is as attractive as the “right” side. It is reminiscent of the sacred geometry symbol vesica piscis.
