This no sew, one piece mitt has a soft textured side and a scratchy side to do exactly what your horse demands.

This is a variation of the Horse Bonnet/Beanie pattern. Unlike the normal bonnet or beanie, elf hats are made differently, starting at the ribbing and working up.

I first got the idea for this pattern when I saw a sewn horse leg stocking in a crafting group I am in on Facebook. I bought the fabric for it, then couldn’t motivate myself to sew it, so, I wrote a crochet pattern for it.

This is a basic pattern for the bonnet and beanie, made to measurements for a horse, pony, and mini. Rectangular, round, and point variations of finishes are described. Instructions for alterations at the end of the pattern.
