Crochet: Softies - Other, Toy Game, Doll
We don’t often get snow in Tokyo and my boys were speculating if they’d be able to build a snowman this year. So it inspired me to make a snowman stack amigurumi toy that they could play with any time they want. Then it occurred to me it could be a game too! It’s perfect for toddlers or foreign language learners but it can be fun for adults too...

I never would have imagined I would crochet a geoduck, but when my youngest son learned about them, of course he requested one. I couldn’t find any patterns or even any finished toys to purchase so I had to design my own. In addition to the funny way geoduck is pronounced, we thought it would look cute as a duck-billed-clam. I ran it through my...

Balloon animals! What fun! But it’s not so fun when balloons pop. A great solution to that is crocheting your own balloon toy. Sure, balloon dogs are the standard, but other animals can be fun too. Why not a rabbit?

Mikan or orange, this pattern started as a keychain house for little mice designed by StringyDingDing. After a couple of years of making keychains, I decided to turn them into no sew dolls too. Both options are included in the pattern.

Dear David was designed in tribute to my father who has loved deer his entire life.
Crochet: Toys and Hobbies - Other
I designed this angel and dedicated it to my mom, Linda. My oldest son chose the hair style because it’s pretty much how my mom has worn her hair her entire life. I went with country blue because she has always had at least one room in any of her homes decorated in that color.

Love can be a bit prickly sometimes but there is nothing prickly about these little beauties. Perfect as a Valentine’s Day decoration or as a year-long decoration for your entryway or mantle.
Crochet: Animal Toy
This is an adorable little turtle made with an African flower motif. It can be considered a scrap buster because it uses so little yarn to complete. It is designed so that the only sewing you need to do is finishing off your final tail and embroider eyes if you like.

You can see a complete description and sample part of the pattern for free on my blog.

This panda (or bear) lovey and rattle are the newest in my Twinkle Lovey design series. I use #4 medium worsted weight acrylic yarn and my usual 3.0 mm hook to get 12” from tip of hand to tip of hand. I worked from a 40g skein of white and a 40g skein of black and had plenty left over. I just used regular woven cotton fabric for the embellishme...

This lovey was made using medium weight yarn and a 3.0mm hook. It measures 12” from tip of hand to tip of hand. An 80g skein of the main color completed a lovey and rattle set. It obviously takes less of the secondary color or a piece of fabric if you’re doing that version. There are two styles of rattle included in this pattern to satisfy your...

I created Ichigo based on a drawing my son, Kenji, did when he was 5 years old. I think I used a 40g ball of dark pink yarn and smaller amounts of the other colors. Gauge doesn’t matter for this as you are free to use whatever you are most comfortable working amigurumi with. Everything you see in the image is included in the pattern.

I have a 2-year-old that is currently learning his colors and matching. I was also planning ahead on making some new designs for Easter. The result of all that is this color matching chick in egg game that is actually perfect for year-round use.

This is a small size amigurumi pattern with a photo tutorial so you can make a little piggy of your own. It only takes a small amount of yarn in any colors you choose. You could make an entire drove of piggies from one skein.

Kenji’s Bumble was based on a drawing done by my son, Kenji. It was actually the first of Kenji’s drawings I turned into amigurumi as I was learning more difficult techniques.

Kenji’s Spotty is named for my aspiring toy designer son. It is based on a ladybug drawing he did which was the inspiration for me to teach myself how to crochet. I guess you could say that this is the design that started it all. If you like the weird and wacky, you might enjoy Kenji’s Spotty. The pattern is free on my website so you have nothi...
