This is a stranded color work mitten knit in the round. It uses 2 colors of fingering weight or sock yarn. This pattern is part of the Illuminations 2 Club, and is also available as a standalone pattern.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
These pretty socks are part of the Armchair Travelers Club. As the club progresses members will receive 12 patterns, each inspired by a different locale. These socks were inspired by ancient Roman aqueducts. The pattern is rhythmic and relaxing to knit, the sock can be made longer or shorter by the addition or subtraction of 10 row repeats.

This lovely shawl is part of the Armchair Travelers Club. 12 patterns each inspired by a different locale. This lovely shawl was inspired by the beautiful beech forests of New Zealand. It drapes beautifully and stays put on the shoulders.

Birch Dreaming Deep is inspired by the ancient boreal birch forests of Iceland. The construction is a sideways crescent with a picked up edging. The garter stitch makes it fast easy and flexible, the lace edging lends a bit of fancy.

The Belle Epoque, also known as the golden age, was the period of European history right before the First World War. The art of the Belle Epoque became more stylized and modern. The motif on this sock is a stylized floral, with a suggestion of wood block technique.

The patterning on this sock was inspired by the wrought iron gates and balconies of Paris, the spirit of peace brought to the Versailles talks after the first world war, and the music of John Cale. Reminiscent of a fashionable Parisian lady’s delicate stockings, the vertical motifs are flattering to any foot.

Poinsettia is a sweet shawlette with delicate leafy tracery reminiscent of a poinsettia plant. The shawl is shaped as 3/4 of a circle.

This lacy little cowl is a super quick knit that looks more complicated than it really is. It can be knit at a tight gauge for a smaller, tighter fit, warmer cowl, or it can be knit at a looser gauge to give a lacy bit of fancy to wear with your holiday finery. Either way, it’s deliciously wearable in a soft, next to your neck, yarn.
